On Friday, March 27, 2026, as the OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster, we visited the Philippine Embassy and had a productive and cordial meeting with the Philippine Ambassador to Ankara, Jaime Ramon T. Ascalon Jr.
During the visit, in line with our cluster's internationalization vision, we shared our plans to participate with a booth at the PhilMedical Expo, one of the most important healthcare events in the Philippines, to be held in August, together with our members. At the meeting, where we had the opportunity to receive valuable insights and suggestions from the Ambassador, we gained important information about the Philippine medical market, and potential areas of cooperation between the two countries were discussed comprehensively.
Also attending the meeting on the Philippine side were Undersecretary and Consul General Dr. Juan E. Dayang Jr. and Third Secretary Emile Josef B. Garcia. During the meetings, which were held as part of the inter-delegation contacts, mutual expectations and cooperation opportunities were evaluated in a multifaceted way.
During the meeting, the activities of the OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster, the production capacity of its members, and the importance it places on international collaborations were presented in detail. It was emphasized that there is a strong synergy between Turkey's expertise in the medical industry and the healthcare needs of the Philippines, and that increasing mutual contacts presents significant opportunities for both sides.
We thank Ambassador Jaime Ramon T. Ascalon Jr. and his delegation for their kind hospitality and constructive contributions, and we hope that steps will continue to increase in the coming period to pave the way for concrete collaborations between the medical sectors of our two countries.
