📢 We, as OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster, were at the "Big Data Management in Disasters Symposium"!
Organized by the Disaster Research Association (AAD), with the support of the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Interior and the approval of AFAD, the "Big Data Management in Disasters Symposium" was held on August 15-16 at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Assembly Hall. Our Cluster Board Chairman and TAM Foundation Board of Trustees Member, Mr. Fatin Dağçınar, along with the TAM Foundation, of which we are a founding member, participated in the symposium.
The opening speeches of the symposium, dedicated to the anniversary of the August 17, 1999 Marmara Earthquake, were given by Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Şuayıp Birinci and President of the Disaster Research Association Prof. Dr. Mehmet Eryılmaz. The symposium, which concluded on time and with great interest from the full audience over two days, addressed vital issues such as early warning systems in disasters, data-driven decision support mechanisms, artificial intelligence applications, and strengthening inter-institutional coordination during crises.
In this strategic organization, which brings together representatives from public institutions (AFAD, Ministry of Health, BTK, HAVELSAN), academia (ITU, ODTU, etc.), civil society, and the private sector on the same platform, we, as OSTIM Medical Industry Cluster and TAM Foundation, emphasized the critical role of our domestic medical industry capacity, health technologies, and data-driven secure solutions in disaster response processes.
We would like to thank all the institutions and the organizing committee that contributed to this valuable event, which was held with the aim of building a more resilient and prepared future against disasters.
